Message from Lion Roger Munday, District Governor

Lions Clubs International - District 105D will celebrate 48 years of Lionism in 2013

DG Elect Lion Roger Munday with Lion Christine MundayIt is natural that each District Governor will have his or her own ideas for Convention in "their year".  I shall also continue the process of change in 2012-13.

The last time we were at Beaumont House we celebrated in Celtic style and most enjoyable it was too.  At our next Convention we will celebrate the fact that our district comprises most of the old Kingdom of Wessex and has, in Winchester, the first capital city of England.

While we have our AGM our non-Lion Partners will be able to visit Eton College and Windsor.

Convention is not only about the AGM, it is the opportunity to enjoy ourselves with old friends and to make new ones. The theme for the Host Night will be a Wessex Adventure where you can come in fancy dress, or not, as the mood takes you. The important thing is to enjoy the magic of the evening among friends. We will have a roving magician visiting the tables - he is very good!  On Saturday night the Banquet and Ball and the formalities will be kept to a minimum so that we can enjoy the company, music and dancing.

The team from Fleet, my club, has already made some changes in the layout of the convention from our last visit and so the exhibitions will be in the smallest part of the three sections of the very large convention hall, and will be partitioned off. The food at dinner on the Host Night will be buffet style but served for us, and so there will be plenty to eat for all of us.

Come and make a difference and come to enjoy yourself among friends and fellow Lions.

See you there.

Lion Roger Munday, District Governor
